Seegene Medical Foundation, a specialized medical institution for disease testing, is continuously innovating under the mission of ‘enhancing human health and happiness’. It has established the Smart Lab, equipped with the largest automated testing system in Korea, and has developed next-generation diagnostic testing systems based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for application in the testing sector.

Notably, the opening of major regional testing centers nationwide for the establishment of a diagnostic testing system is a representative innovation. Starting with the Busan-Gyeongnam Testing Center in June 2014, followed by △the opening of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Testing Center in January 2020, △ the Gwangju-Honam Testing Center in June 2020, and △ the Daejeon-Chungcheong Testing Center in February 2022.

Since the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation has contributed to preventing the spread of infectious diseases based on the nation’s largest molecular diagnostic testing capability. △It has operated screening and test centers in cooperation with local authorities nationwide, and △has also operated mobile PCR test centers in Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan, and elsewhere in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and local education offices for school epidemic prevention. Moreover, it has swiftly responded to COVID-19 by operating the state-of-the-art automated mobile testing facilities, ‘Seegene Mobile Lab’, at conventions, international exhibitions, airports, and other locations with large gatherings

The foundation has established social contribution as a core value of the institution. It has conducted medical volunteer activities not only domestically but also in countries such as Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kenya. It shares its capabilities through activities such as establishing health centers abroad, donations, and inviting health and medical personnel for training. With the testing capabilities accumulated so far, the foundation plans to expand internationally beyond Korea. It will integrate and manage research institutes for molecular diagnostics, mass spectrometry, immunology, AI, etc., and actively engage in joint research with external institutions and companies.
