To commemorate its 60th anniversary, Samyang Foods has completely revamped the taste and design of both Samyang Ramen and Samyang Ramen Spicy flavors.

Over the course of approximately a year, Samyang Foods dedicated itself to research and development for the renewal of Samyang Ramen and Samyang Ramen Spicy. While maintaining the ham flavor, they enhanced the meat and vegetable broth with a refreshing and clean taste, reinforcing the richness of the broth.

For Samyang Ramen Spicy, they achieved a spicy and rich broth by using a beef broth base combined with various aromatic ingredients, such as green onions, garlic, and chili peppers. They also added potato starch to enhance the chewy texture of the noodles and changed the shape from round to square. The square shape maintains the characteristic curliness of ramen noodles as they are cut directly from the dough during production and then fried in oil.

Samyang Foods also updated the design of both Samyang Ramen and Samyang Ramen Spicy while preserving the company’s tradition and applying a new Corporate Identity (CI). They placed appetizing images of Samyang Ramen on the front of the package, emphasizing its status as the first ramen noodles in Korea and showcasing its distinctive taste and features.

The renewed Samyang Ramen and Samyang Ramen Spicy have been gradually released since September of last year and are currently available for sale in large supermarkets, convenience stores, super supermarkets (SSM), and online shopping malls.

An official of Samyang Foods stated, “While maintaining the essence of Samyang Ramen accumulated over 60 years, we have renewed it to align with consumer preferences.” He further added, “Through various marketing activities, we aim to enhance the value of the Samyang brand and expand our market share in the domestic ramen market.”
