Gyullojangsaeng

Gyullojangsaeng, the integrated brand for the tangerines of the Jeju Agricultural Cooperative Federation.

“Gyullojangseang” was created as the integrated brand of Jeju tangerines in July 2015 through a development process of about 20 months in order to strengthen the branding of Jeju tangerines and enhance their competitiveness by establishing a representative brand, as the jumbled brands per agricultural cooperative federations in the region aggravated the confusion of consumers and made it difficult to manage quality.

The brand name “Gyullojangseang” is the portmanteau of Jeju tangerine and Bullojangsaeng (perpetual youth). It expresses the health efficacies of Jeju tangerines, including anti-obesity, anti-cancer, anti-inflammation, and skin care effects. The brand image embodies the crane, one of the ten longevity symbols, dynamically soaring high with fully unfolded wings. It reminds consumers of longevity without diseases achieved through Jeju tangerines.

“Gyullojangsaeng” has been selected in the Korea Master Brand Awards for 12 consecutive years, from 2012, as a result of its devotion to strict quality management, including sorting tangerines whose sweetness is over 10 brix.
