LG Uplus provides various home services based on the Internet, including △Internet TV ‘U+tv next’ and △an IoT (Internet of Things) service, U+Smart Home equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. Last August, U+tv next significantly improved the convenience of content viewing. In addition to real-time broadcast content provided by previous U+tv, customers can conveniently watch personalized video-on-demand (VOD) and video streaming services (OTT) tailored to their profiles in one place.

They also introduced an ‘OTT comparison’ feature, expanding the existing OTT integrated content search function. This feature compares prices for U+tv VOD, IPTV, and monthly subscription products enabling access to content, or OTT service subscription fees on the content detail page. It also provides information on the customer’s OTT subscription status, allowing customers to select only the content they want to watch, eliminating duplicate purchases.

LG Uplus continuously strives to innovate the customer viewing experiences. In 2012, LG Uplus partnered with Google for the first time in Korea and provided YouTube content on TV screens. Subsequently, in 2018 and 2021, LG Uplus became the first to introduce Netflix and Disney+. LG Uplus established themselves as the largest multi-OTT service provider in Korea through partnerships with domestic and international OTT platforms, such as Tving, Coupang Play, and Raftel.

Moreover, LG Uplus Home IoT service, ‘U+Smart Home,’ has been continuously enhancing customer experiences with high convenience. Particularly, U+Smart Home receives significant praise from pet owners for ensuring the safety and health of their pets in real time. It offers various IoT devices, such as △’Momka,’ a closed-circuit television (CCTV) allowing remote monitoring of pets from outside, and △’Remote Feeder,’ enabling remote feeding anytime, anywhere. An LG Uplus official stated, “We are constantly striving and making efforts to improve services based on customer-centric thinking. In the future, we will continue to enhance the U+ Home Service experience by integrating various technologies, such as Big Data and AI.”
