The 2023 NYF K-NBA, the 14th NYF KOREA-National Brand Awards 62 Korea National Brands in industry, place and culture division announced.President Park Jong-tae of Incheon National University was also inducted into the ‘NYF Hall of Fame’

In 2023, NYF K-NBA held its 14th awards ceremony. The award nominees were evaluated using the ‘National Brand Competitiveness Index (NCI)’ model developed by New York Festival. About 1,850 tangible and intangible brand values of 748 enterprises and local authorities were analyzed using the indicies.

The NYF K-NBA is the global power brand award organized by New York Festival, one of Top 3 World Advertising Festivals. The awards ceremony was directly hosted by Chairman Allen Smyth of New York Festival. The 2023 NYF K-NBA selected and announced the most valuable and competitive brands as national assets and one inductee to the ‘New York Festivals Hall of Fame’. The list of winners will be announced on New York Festival Korea Awards website.

The NYF K-NBA has been selecting and publicizing the most distinguished brands among consumers in Korea and abroad in Industry, Place and Culture Division in Korea every year since 2010. The industrial and place brands are selected by measuring brand indicies of ‘National Brand Competitiveness Index’, the internal evaluation system, and culture brands and the inductees into the ‘New York Festivals Hall of Fame’ are selected by evaluating their contributions.

For 2023, 62 national brands of Korea were selected including ▲ 40 industrial brands, ▲ 20 place brands, such as city and agricultural food brands, and ▲ 2 culture brands in the works and individual section. Moreover, President Park Jong-tae of Incheon National University was honored by being inducted into the ‘NYF Hall of Fame’ for making the most distinguished contribution to the development of the brand industry or individual brands in Korea. The contribution by President Park was highly valued as Incheon National University secured the brand of the local hub university. Furthermore, President Park endeavored to create social sharing by actively devising an agenda for the development of the local communities and the country.
Several brands have been continuously valued by consumers in Korea and abroad. ▲ Lotte World Adventure has won the prize for 14 consecutive years, ▲ KB Financial Group for 12 consecutive years, ▲ KIA Members for 12 consecutive years, ▲ LG U+Home Service for 12 consecutive years, ▲ LG OLED TV for 11 consecutive years, ▲ LG TROMM for 10 consecutive years, ▲ Buyeo Goodtrae for 12 consecutive years, ▲ Gyullojangsaeng for 12 consecutive years and ▲ Goesan, the city of eco-organic agriculture for 11 consecutive years. In addition, brands in the financial sector were dominant this year, as KB Financial Group, Mirae Asset Securities, DB Insurance, and Woori Card were selected as national power brands. In particular, SK Securities received a good evaluation in the ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) management category for industrial organizations. LG Electronics was evaluated as the best brand in 3 categories: TVs, washers. and air conditioners. The new brands receiving good evaluations from consumers this year include Woori Card, SK Securities, and Cookcell in the industry division, and Ttangkkeut Haenam, Jincheon, Danyang Village, Goesan Clean Chili Pepper, Haenam Korean Cabbage, and Ugly Kimchi by Chance in the place division.

‘The Three Queens’ by G. Donizetti, presented by La Bella Opera Company, including Roberto Devereux, is to be presented for the first time in Korea as Anna Bolena and Maria Stuarda won the prize in works section of the culture division. For the individual brand, CEO Ahn Ho-sang was selected.

Moreover, NYF K-NBA secures the international platform to recognize the importance of brands as the national assets of Korea, celebrate their creativity, and praise their remarkable fames.”
