Decreasing number of students, a super aging society and the 4th Industrial Revolution make competition among universities fiercer in the higher education field. The valid period of knowledge acquired from universities has become shorter and shorter and knowledge itself has been rapidly changing to the extent that an approach used yesterday is not valid today. Incheon National University is building the new national university model which can create social value on the basis of its flexible operating structure as the only national university, along with Seoul National University, and its growth and innovation culture. Furthermore, Incheon National University will implement the futuristic education platforms, including the metaverse for integrated online and offline education, as well as strengthening the voluntary research programs by students and expand the nano-degree and multiple majors system in the education field.

For research, Incheon National University endeavors to implement the group research system led by a research institute, develop the competitive research institute to be a representative signature research institute of the university, and make practical and globalized research achievements by activating cooperation with industries and joint research with global organizations. In case of the social contributions, Incheion National University enhances its function as the representative hub to communicate with local communities by implementing a platform for cooperation with local communities and fulfills the social responsibilities as the national university by founding the Public School of Medicine for contribution to local communities.
