The Jeju tangerine brand, ‘Gyullojangsaeng,’ created by the Jeju National Agricultural Cooperative Federation and the Jeju Tangerine Association, won the prize in the 15th National Brand Awards. With this, Gyullojangsaeng has received the honor for 13 consecutive years, since 2012.

The ‘Korea National Brand Awards’ is a ceremony that selects the most competitive and prestigious brands in Korea. It is awarded to the top brands in each category representing industry, cities, policies, agriculture, food and culture by consumers’ direct evaluation on brand awareness, representation, satisfaction, loyalty, and global competitiveness.

Gyullojangsaeng is an integrated tangerine brand established by the Jeju National Agricultural Cooperative Federation in 2015 to strengthen the branding and competitiveness of Jeju tangerines. Gyullojangsaeng, a combination of Jeju tangerine and longevity, reflects not only the taste but also the health benefits of Jeju tangerines, such as anti-obesity, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and skincare effects.

Baek Sung-ik, the Chairman of the Jeju Tangerine Association, stated, “Gyullojangsaeng only ships high-quality tangerines with a sugar content of 10 Brix or higher through strict quality control.“ He also expressed plans to further strengthen consumer trust through continuous quality management and differentiation.

Meanwhile, the Jeju National Agricultural Cooperative Federation and the Jeju Tangerine Association designated December 1st as Tangerine Day, symbolizing it as the top fruit of winter (December), and annually conduct ‘Day-Marketing’ campaigns. They also strive to promote the excellence of tangerines through various consumer promotion events and diversify distribution channels in response to changing consumption patterns. Additionally, they engage in various promotional activities tailored to the trends of the millennial and Gen Z generations, such as YouTube and SNS.”
