The head of a local govenment

K-NBA evaluated the brands representing culture, industry and region, the core components of national image, in various aspects. Goesan-gun became the ‘national brand’ for an eco-friendly organic farming city with great evaluation results in awareness, representativeness, satisfaction, loyalty, global competitiveness, and preference.

The first goal of Goesan-gun is rich and clean farming. Moreover, Goesan-gun has been continuously increasing certified eco-farming areas by managing and operating the entire production of agricultural products, including production, certification, distribution, and consumption. Goesan-gun is also actively promoting eco-farming by securing stable sales channels.

Goesan-gun is acknowledged for the superiority of ‘K-Organic’ as the co-chairman of the GAOD (Global Alliance for Organic Districts) and leading global organic farming, including hosting the ALGO Summit and World Organic Youth Contest. Successfully hosting the ‘2022 Goesan World Organic Industry Expo’, Goesan-gun attracted 752,000 visitors exceeding its target of 720,000 visitors, including visitors from 36 countries. Profits from admission tickets and contributions reached the goal of 3.2 Billion KRW. Moreover, Goesan-gun confirmed once again that organic farming was a promising industry in the future, including total contracts valued at 9.8 billion KRW with buyers in Korea and abroad.

An official of Goesan-gun said, “Goesan’gun was very delighted for being recognized as the best organic farming city for 11 consecutive years. Goesan-gun endeavors to expand the values of organic farming, acknowledge its importance, and advance toward the world, beyond Korea and Chungcheongbuk-do”.
