CEO Honghyeon Eum has been taking the initiative for the popularization of musicals in Korea. As a leading musical company, EMK Musical Company is bringing a new sensation to the Korean musical market. CEO Eum said, “As the leader in Korean musical industry, the most influential driving force in creating unique and innovative content is making the audience love musical works. We secured the diversity of works by presenting authentic European musicals filled with addictive melodies and dramatic narratives coupled with splendid stages, costumes and classical music, including the musicals ‘Mozart!’ and ‘Rebecca’. These productions were successful in the musical market of Korea, where Broadway and West End musicals usually prevail.” EMK Musical Company proposed a new paradigm for Korean creative musicals by presenting original creative musicals, including ‘Mata Hari’, ‘Smiling Guy’ and ‘Excalibur’ using their musical production know-how.

EMK is also devoting itself to the globalization of the creative musicals of Korea. ‘Mata Hari’ produced KRW 15 Billion over 4 years and was successfully staged in Japan in 2018 through a licensing agreement with Umeda Art Theater, Japan; ‘Smiling Guy’ created KRW 17.5 Billion and is memorable as it swept three awards ceremonies in 2018. It was evaluated to propose a new direction for the globalization of the creative musicials of Korea.
