To lead the K-food trend, various new products are also being launched. Last year, the second-generation of canned tuna ‘Dongwon Mat-Cham,’ which can be eaten directly with rice without separate cooking, opened a new horizon in the canned tuna market. ‘Dongwon Tuna Extract,’ a liquid seasoning product developed with Dongwon F&B’s 40 plus years of accumulated technology of tuna production, achieved a significant presence in the seasoning market. Furthermore, earlier this year, it launched the premium fermented milk brand ‘Denmark Hej!’ and is creating a sensation in the liquid fermented milk market. ‘Denmark Hej!’ is a sub-brand of the total dairy processed brand ‘Denmark,’ planned to introduce premium products containing probiotics and various functional ingredients from Denmark, the global power of the dairy industry.

Moreover, Dongwon F&B has been taking the lead in ESG (environmental, social, and governance) management, not only providing healthy food to customers but also fulfilling its social responsibility in all aspects of its business activities. The group’s founding philosophy (realization of social justice through sincere corporate activities) and corporate vision (a socially necessary company creating new value) already inherently include ESG management values. Furthermore, Dongwon F&B has set a goal of ‘strengthening ESG management activities.’ The first step towards this goal is ‘Reducing Plastic Usage.’

Dongwon F&B strives to reduce the amount of plastic used in food packaging. Representative examples of practical actions include △eco-friendly packaging for Yangban Laver without plastic trays and △Dongwon Saemmul, which reduced the weight of PET bottles.
