Chungbuk Development Corporation (CDC) has been awarded 1st place in the Creative Management category at the 2025 16th Korea National Brand Awards (NYF K-NBA). As part of its creative management initiatives, CDC transformed the long-abandoned site of the former Cheongju Girls High School, which had been left idle for 36 years in the heart of Cheongju, into the new independent headquarters of the Korean Teachers’ Credit Union. This upcycling project marks a major milestone in the corporation’s 18-year history. In July of last year, the site was designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as a “Leading Spatial Innovation District.” It is now set to evolve into a new-growth cultural and administrative complex, featuring specialized spaces for youth startups and multifunctional public cultural facilities.

In addition, CDC has introduced a new brand, “Smart Valley,” aimed at breaking away from the outdated image commonly associated with industrial complexes. This new concept envisions transforming traditional industrial zones into integrated cultural and healing spaces where people genuinely want to work—beyond just manufacturing hubs.

CDC has also been steadily implementing various creative and innovative management practices, including △introduction of the “Construction Skilled Worker Site Representative System” to enhance on-site safety, △ establishment of an arbitration system for faster and more effective dispute resolution, and △ allowing the submission of creative alternatives during the bidding and award process.

President Jin Sang-hwa of Chungbuk Development Corporation stated, “We are deeply honored to be recognized for our contributions in the field of creative management at the National Brand Awards. We will continue to drive change and innovation for the 1.64 million residents of Chungcheongbuk-do, the heart of Korea.”
