K-NBA Award verified that Uljin Crab, the representative brand of Uljin-gun, was highly recognized by consumers.

The crab preferred by everyone is popular as a healthy food because of the effectiveness of strengthening bones with rich vitamins, amino acids, and chitosan.

Uljin-gun and residents endeavor to protect resources and the stable quality of Uljin crabs. Jukbyeonhang Port and Hupohang Port, the main producing areas of crabs, voluntarily restrict the distribution of ‘low quality crabs (empty crab)’ through regular meetings with producers and distributors. Uljin-gun implements the ‘Coastal Crab TAC System’ limitting the daily consignment sales per ship by designating autonomous management fishing, the only coastal fishing of less than 10 tons in Korea. Moreover, Unjin-gun is performing diverse activities, including the ▲distribution of biodegradable fishing net, ▲ implementation of legalized real-name fishing area system, ▲ collection of sunken fishing nets in crab fishing areas and ▲ autonomous monitoring of illegal fishing. Uljin Geumgangsong Pine Mushrooms are also substantially favored with Uljin Crab through the great endeavors of the provincial government and residents for sustainability.
